Its spring break!!! And you know up here in AK that means the skiing is usually popping off! We took advantage of a sunny Saturday and explored Peterson Creek, a new zone for both of us. Ryan was breaking in his new Hoji boots. No toe welt but so far they seem to ski pretty well!

After a quick cruise through the alders we were soon heading up the first gulley. This gulley is essentially a funnel to a ton of avalanche terrain from above. Not a good place to be in less than super stable conditions!

Soon enough we were out of the gully and trees and the terrain opened up. Sun was shining and spirits were high when we saw how many incredible lines were in the area.

Big mountains = Big fun!!

AlooooHA! Our first lap we skied the glacier that we skinned up! Soft and sunny!

Our next lap we used our same skin track but dropped down off the steeper side of the ridge. It was the face with the big shadow running through it right above Ryan’s head in this pic.

Plenty of daylight for long lunches and goofing off!

Heading back upwards!

We had an audience for our second line, Sam Volk and crew was out there as well. We both had binding malfunctions on this run and skied this face incredibly poorly! But hey we got down in one piece which is all that matters. You guys are welcome for the free gong show!

We wanted to ski some more but we had a taco party to get back in town for. This ended up being the last party of 2020! The very next day we went to the store and the shelves were totally cleared out, mass panic!!
