BRYCE IS NYCE

In a land far far away, lived these awesome rocks called hoodoos! As the young kids ask when you enter a party- HOODOO you know here? Welcome to this magical land called Bryce National Park located in Utah!

BUT FIRST, WHAT WE LEARNED BOB!

  • Camp on the BLM roads! (a quick google mcoogle can help you navigate)
  • Hike the Fairyland loop Trail: 8 miles (Starts at Fairyland point, 4 hour hike, 1500′ elevation gain). Fairlyland point is less crowded than the other hikes in this park and free 99 because you start outside of the park!
  • WATER! Remember you are in a desert people!
  • If you want to find a queen- head to her garden (7 mile loop)- Start at Sunset point, ran down Wall Street and head to the peek-a-boo loop. After that we hopped over to the Queen’s Garden trail and up to Sunrise point and then got back to our car on the Rim Trail. You won’t be disappointed

Okay back to our regularly scheduled programming! We bumbled down from Salt Lake to spend the weekend in Bryce with tiny Shannon and Sway (normal sized). We met up on Saturday morning at the visitors center to pick up a map, a junior rangers vest, and a quick trunk picnic because Ryan and Keeks were hangry!

We decided to hike the Fairyland loop, an 8 mile winding loop through some of the most wackiest rocks we had ever seen! Just check some of this stuff out!

After our hike we went on a drive adventure to find a nice spot on a BLM road to set up our dumpster mattress! We have been super digging all of the great spots you can post up for free on these BLM roads that are all over the place. The sunset this night was unreal!

You can’t really pull off a dumpster mattress in AK like you can in a desert. Comfy, easy to set up, and you get awesome views of the stars and the sunrise!

Day 2 we were on our own and decided on a cool loopy run! We started at Sunset point, ran down Wall Street and did the peek-a-boo loop. After that we hopped over to the Queen’s Garden trail and up to Sunrise point and then got back to our car on the Rim Trail.

Coming down Wall Street was one of the neatest windy sections of trail we had ever seent!
