Biking Denali Park Road is something that seems to make it on every tourists hit list, but get passed up frequently among locals. Who knows why! This May due to Covid the busses driving up and down the road were not running and they had the road open to personal vehicles a lot further than usual. It seemed like the perfect combo to go poke around Denali on mountain bikes!
The road was open all the way to Teklanika Rest Stop at mile 30, meaning we could drive that far in and then continue on bikes for the coolest parts.

Noah, Kianna, and Ryan loaded up the juicebox and headed north on Friday after work. We found a pullout off the highway near the park road that would get the job done. Not very private, but we turned that place into a party zone! Fun Fact: You can sleep 3 hooligans in the back of a Honda Element!

We woke up at O dark thirty, slammed some energy dranks, and drove all the way to Teklanika and made some brekky!
Okay now we are ready! Hopped on the bikes and didn’t see anyone except a park ranger all day! Right off the bat Kianna was having bike issues. Her rear brake was rubbing which made the long uphill even harder. We ended up just taking the brake off #leterrip!
Stopped and said hello to some caribou!

Nice views! We ended up posting up Toklat river (m52), setting up the hammock, cracking a cold one, and eating our leftover thai food! Not a bad place to chill!

The ride back was great views too, go figure! We somehow managed to not get rained on once even though we saw rain pouring on all sides around us!

We decided to suit up for the way back. It is just easier in a costume sometimes!
We saw 3 grizzly bears, but we only got good pics of these gummy bears!

Wahoo we made it back! We celebrated by getting wasted and eating the worst pizza of our life!
